(the tips, tricks and hacks worth knowing)

Building a content strategy for your community may seem daunting at first.

But you need one to be able to thrive and give meaning to your community.

You cannot post random content without a guide and expect results.

So here are three important tips when building a strategy.

1. Consistency

You do not need to post everyday BUT you need certain guidelines and consistency with the content you post.

Building an audience will not happen overnight. It takes time and a lot of thought.

So be consistent with your schedule, topics and type of posts.

Last but not least, be consistent with quality content and never ever put quantity over quality.

2. Edu-tainment

Why do people join communities? Well it definitely isn’t to hear your sales pitches all day, everyday.

People join communities to learn, share with like minded people, have a better understanding of a certain topic and join conversations of interest.

Incorporating humor and fun into educational content will boost your engagement and will help you create a more valuable relationship with your audience.

3. Call to action

Always ask for an action!

What do you want your audience to do?

  • Comment
  • Share
  • Like
  • Subscribe
  • Read

It doesn’t matter what the call to action is but don’t forget to be clear about it.

🔥 3 Hacks worth knowing

(the tips, tricks and hacks worth knowing)

Segmenting your email list can make a huge difference in the quality of subscribers you have and the type of content you send.

A key way to segment is by using the sales funnel as a guiding tool.

Here are three ways to use the sales funnel in your favor and have a better curated list.

1. What step of the funnel is your audience in?

Traditional sales funnels are divided in:

  • Awareness
  • Interest
  • Decision
  • Action

Depending on your style, you can add more stages to make it more specific but this will cover the general aspects.

By knowing what stage your subscribers are in, you can add tags within your email provider and know where each of your subscribers is currently at.

2. Make specific content for each stage

Have pre-made emails that you can send to your subscribers at the specific stage they are at.

For example, if they are in the decision stage and the action you want them to take is to purchase, you can send an email with a coupon or some other incentive for them to take action.

If they are in the action stage, you might want them to recommend your product or become recurrent buyers, so you send an email about a loyalty incentive or ask them to rate your product.

It is very important you make different emails for the different stages because personalization will play a big role in getting your subscribers to the next stage.

3. Check in with your subscriber base and know your conversion rates

It may sound simple but you need to know what is your conversion rate for each stage.

This way you will know which stages are the most critical and where you need to focus your resources to keep the flow going.

When you have this information, you are better equipped to make changes that will have a positive impact on your subscriber base.

🔥 1 Fact worth reading

We just talked about sales funnels, but are they actually important?

Will it really make a difference or are they just a waste of time?

68% of companies don’t have a sales funnel…

… 79% of their marketing leads were never converted to sales

This might be a coincidence but we don’t think so. Having clear goals and knowing where you stand is key.

Additionally, nurtured leads make 47% larger purchases than non-nurtured leads.

This means that keeping track of your base and sending personalized content depending on the stage, WILL make a difference.

🔥 3 Hacks worth knowing

(the tips, tricks and hacks worth knowing)

Building a content strategy takes time an effort but it is worth it as it will result in a more engaged and loyal community.

It also results in higher quality leads, which results in a better change of converting those leads into paying customers.

But how do you build a prime content strategy?

Every community is different but use these three steps as a guide:

1. Keep a consistent calendar

Consistency means something different for every person.

For some it might be posting once a week while for others it may be posting twice a day.

The key here is that you follow a schedule that will work for you.

You can even have a specific topic for a day of the week like “Friday Trivia” or “Tuesday Question of the Week”.

At first this will take a lot of effort from your part but as your community starts engaging and posting, the collaboration will become seamless.

2. Don’t be shy – use video!

Your community wants to get to know you so say hi every once in a while.

Additionally, people love video because it is easier to keep track of the information and it tends to be more entertaining than reading a long post.

So start to get comfortable with the camera and share videos every once in a while.

3. Always have a call to action

Ask yourself, what do you want your members to do?

Do you want them to share, like, comment, download?

There are many calls to action you can choose from that will adapt to what you want to achieve in that moment.

Make sure to choose something because this way, your audience gets used to this type of interaction.

🔥 3 Hacks worth knowing

(the tips, tricks and hacks worth knowing)

Billo is a user-friendly platform that helps you make custom-made videos for your eCom brand.

Why videos?

Video is becoming the most important way for your brand to stand out from the crowd and boost your sales.

2021 was the year of video, but 2022 is sure to keep that trend going.

So what does that look like?

  • 82% of internet traffic will be video by 2022
  • People watch over 1 billion hours of YouTube every day
  • 72% of consumers prefer to watch a video about a product rather than read a product description
  • 86% of businesses now use video to help market their products and services

Make sure you keep up to date with the trends for next year by following these three hacks.

  1. Be in the right channels

Choose between YouTube, TikTok, Instagram and Facebook. Use a mix of all depending on your target audience and the amount of time you have to dedicate to each of the channels.

It is not just about posting in all channels but doing so intentionally and giving your audience something of quality that is worth watching.

Know where your target audience is most present and where they are most likely to interact with your brand and your content.

  1. Know which type of videos works better within each channel

To be able to have more effective videos, you need to know where they work best.

For example, on Facebook, silent videos are the most popular ones.

On TikTok and Instagram, posting videos with trending audios will make sure users find your videos.

YouTube shorts are more popular than ever before and it seems like they are here to stay.

  1. Integrate video marketing into your sales funnel

Optimize your video marketing campaigns by knowing where the bucket is leaking

Whether it is awareness, interest, decision or action, you can benefit from making specific content for key areas in your funnel.

🔥 3 Hacks worth knowing

(the tips, tricks and hacks worth knowing)

2021 has been the year of videos and 2022 looks sure to follow.

They have become so much important to build a loyal customer base and reach unattended consumers.

But how can you make better videos?

Follow these three hacks and improve the quality of your videos.

1. Make sure the topics are solving your customer’s problems

Before choosing a topic, research your customers and target audience. Try to answer all of the following questions:

  • What are their pain points?
  • What problem are they trying to solve?
  • What are they trying to get done?
  • What alternatives do they have?
  • What are they trying to gain?

With a clear answer to these questions, you will be able to have content specially made for your target audience that will have a bigger impact than if you are just randomly recording content.

2. Script your content

Before recording, make sure to outline and/or script your video.

This will help you be more intentional in what your are delivering and gives you a more clear structure.

This results in videos that are easy to follow and to understand, which will retain your users attention and give them a clear solution.

To do this, write the following before recording:

  • What do you want your audience to remember from the video?
  • Write the main points/themes of your video
  • Have a clear introduction and conclusion
  • Write a call to action

3. Develop a unique feel for your brand

There are so many creators out there that you need to make your brand stand out.

Don’t copy what your favorite YouTuber does, make sure your videos capture your essence and your brands reason to be.

Be consistent with your brand image across the channels you use, from your colors, way you speak, etc.

Be bold and don’t be afraid to stand out because that is what will draw people to your content and eventually earn more customers.

🔥 3 Hacks worth knowing

(the tips, tricks and hacks worth knowing)

One of the most important things when building an email list is to tag your users.

This will make your life way easier as you will allow you to be more organized and send the right content to the right subscribers.

Ask yourself three questions to be able to add the right tags to your subscribers and have a more organized list.

1. Where are my subscribers coming from?

This makes a difference on the type of communication you will send them.

Depending on the source of your subscribers you will choose which emails to send them.

For example, if your subscribers come from a Facebook Group then Facebook related content will be best.

If your subscribers come from one of your courses then that specific topic will be appealing for them to keep learning about.

And so on and so forth…

2. What are their interests?

A couple of weeks ago we uploaded a video explaining how to grow your email list from your Facebook Group.

Well, with member requests, Facebook makes it easier for you to learn more about your members.

(You can watch from 0:19 until 2:10 to learn more about member requests)

When you know about specific circumstances and interests you can add tags and build content for those specific interests.

For example, if your users said they are interested in digital marketing then create content for them.

If they are business owners then adapt your content to be able to better serve their unique needs.

3. Do they have any relevant demographics?

This will vary depending on the type of business you are building.

For some, knowing the age range of their subscribers is of value.

For others, knowing their geographical location is important.

Some need to know what language they speak.

In these types of tags you might have…

🔥 3 Hacks worth knowing

(the tips, tricks and hacks worth knowing)

Facebook just released TWO new certifications.

Should I get one of them?

Should I get one of the previous one?

How do I choose which certification to take?

Getting Facebook Certified might sound scary and like a big task but ask yourself these questions to figure out which certification is right for you.

1. Are you planning on running ads?

This is the first question you need to ask yourself because it will divide your options very neatly.

If you are planning on running ads then you should think about placement, perf

2. Are you on a technical role?

If you are a designer or are on a more technical role, focus on those core abilities. You should go for the Creative Strategy Professional or the newer certification of Spark AR Professional.

If not, you can focus on more technical and data focused certifications.

3. Where is your career going?

This is a more personal question that will vary depending on your goals and career options.

If you are a digital marketer that wants to strengthen their analytics then a better option for you is to take the Marketing Science Professional or the newer certification, the Marketing Analytics Professional.

But what is it?

🔥 3 Hacks worth knowing

(the tips, tricks and hacks worth knowing)

Facebook is updating its Campaign Objectives

But what do these new changes mean?

Here are the 3 key things you need to know about this…

1. There are now 6 objectives

The current campaign objectives are eleven but Facebook has narrowed it down to just six.

The new objectives are:

  • Awareness
  • Traffic
  • Engagement
  • Leads
  • App Promotion
  • Sales

The point of this change is to have objectives that are aligned with your business strategy and not just random campaigns.

2. No action needed for live campaigns

If you already have the new objectives but had previous campaigns still running, there is no need to worry.

These campaigns will remain working as you set them up and there is no need to adjust.

You will still be able to edit them as needed but it will not be required for them to keep working.

3. The change will happen automatically

There is no way (currently) to opt in for this change and there is no warning that the change will be occurring to your account. One day you will have the new objectives and that’s that

Supposedly, this change will happen globally by the end of 2021.

But…

It is Facebook we are talking about so be patient as delays can be expected.

🔥 3 Hacks worth knowing

(the tips, tricks and hacks worth knowing)

As Facebook recently reminded us, we need more than one way to reach our audience.

Email marketing is one of the most effective ways to connect with your audience on a deeper level and gives you another channel to start a conversation even if other social media platforms fail.

Choosing an email provider can be daunting at times as there are so many different options that have different:

  • Pricing plans
  • Opinions from users
  • Necessary skill set to schedule everything
  • Features (that you may or may not need)
  • And so many other things…

We have tried a couple of different email providers but the one we have liked the most thus far and that we currently use is Convertkit.

Why Convertkit?

1. Intuitive and simple

The platform is easy to use and very user friendly. The platform follows a certain order and it guides you seamlessly through the different steps of sending out an email. They have made it incredibly simple for you to check on your subscribers.

2. Landing pages and forms

This feature allows you to create landing pages and sign up forms without needing your own website. At Markeko, we do have our own website but this feature allows us to directly link new sign ups to our email sequences. Additionally, it supports many add-ons so you can add it to your website for traffic to automatically upload to your email lists. Bonus points for having such clean designs to make it more appealing for users to take action.

3. Visual automations

Automations allow you to put certain subscribers in the right email sequences, automatically! It is this feature that makes us so much more efficient and allows us to send the right communication to the right people, at the right time.

Convertkit lets us do so much and saves us so much time! If you are looking to get started with email marketing, you can start here.

(Pro tip: If you aren’t sure about what email provider to use just yet, you can try Convertkit’s free plan and check out some basic features to see if it’s something you are interested in. Although once you try it, you won’t be able to switch it!)

🔥 1 Fact worth reading

Frustrated over email open rates?

Two of the most important metrics are open rates and click rates as they tell you how interested your subscribers are in the content you are sharing.

Currently, the average open rate for emails is of 21.33%. (Counting all industries)

🔥 3 Hacks worth knowing

(the tips, tricks and hacks worth knowing)

Facebook is still the world’s most popular social media platform so having a Facebook presence is still non-negotiable.

However, as we experienced last week, it is important to have another way to communicate with your audience in case those trusted platforms fail.

Which is why besides having a FB group, keeping an eye on growing your email list is imperative.

Below are the three best practices to use pop ups on blogs in order to keep growing that email list and strengthen your FB community.

1. Incentivize users with great value to leave their email address

With so much spam out there, people rarely leave their email address so give them something of real value.

This could be:

  • Early access to a course
  • Discount codes
  • Free ebook
  • “How-to” guide
  • Youtube channel… etc…

No matter what it is, make sure you share. It will increase the conversion rate of people leaving their email address.

2. Redirect users to your Facebook group

The past few weeks we have shared other steps to grow an email list within a Facebook group so if you missed it you can watch it here.

Make sure you direct users back to your Facebook community in order to collect email via member requests and your welcome post.

This allows the process to be continuous and more dynamic.

3. Choose a style that is right for you

There are many different pop-up styles available so choose the one that makes your content more accessible and allows you to easily view the data.

Choose a style that is aligned with your page and your brand.

Small details can make a big difference.

Think about your audience and what will appeal to them!

Pro tip: Don’t have your own website or blog? No problem! You can use Convertkit’s tools to be able to show a pop-up even if you don’t have your own website. Get started here!!

🔥 3 Hacks worth knowing

(the tips, tricks and hacks worth knowing)

In the previous weeks, we have learned how to grow your email list with a Facebook Group.

Having a welcome post is a must but how should you go about it?

1. Pin post to top

The point of having a welcome post is to welcome new members

So make sure this is the first post they will see once they are accepted

It gives your members an opportunity to feel part of something more intimate and personalized

Remember, everything lies in the details so don’t forget to skip this!

2. Be clear and concise

Long posts are boring and most of the time, people will not keep reading

Keep it simple and to the point

Explain what the group is about and what the objective is without boring people

As they connect more with your group and what you are doing, the engagement will increase, but this is a gradual process

Be mindful of your audience and their time

3. Redirect your new members to key website and resources

This is the crucial part when building an email list

It allows you to capture new members attention and direct them to pages where you can capture their email

Additionally, sharing important resources early on signals to your community that you care about their needs

🔥 3 Hacks worth knowing

(the tips, tricks and hacks worth knowing)

How to grow your email list from a Facebook Group.

So first things first, you need to turn on member requests for your Facebook group.

Here are three important things to keep in mind when activating member requests:

1. Enable a Join Request

This might seem awfully simple but it is a step that is often overlooked.

Take advantage that this feature exists and use it to grow your email list!

2. Incentivize people to leave their email

The easy way is to just ask people for their email.

But…

It is not the most effective way.

Give people a reason to leave their email address!

You might offer:

  • Coupon codes
  • Early access to a course
  • Free eBook

It doesn’t matter what you are giving your customers as long as it is something that is related to your group and brings them additional value.

3. Ask questions that can help you segment your email list.

You will use this within your email provider to target your users better.

Make sure to limit your questions and make them simple to answer.

Why?

Because if it takes a considerable amount of effort to answer them, then be sure new members will just skip through these.

Ask yourself: what is important for me to know about my audience? How can I serve them better?

You might ask:

  • Why are people joining my group?
  • What are they looking to solve?

This will help feed users into the right email sequence to improve the value they are getting and it saves you a ton of time!

🔥 3 Hacks worth knowing

(the tips, tricks and hacks worth knowing)

How do you grow your email list from a Facebook group?

Facebook groups are a great way to grow your email lists and enable you to give your community even more valuable content.

These three tips will help you make sure to get the most users.

1. Facebook Group Intro Questions

Before letting anyone join your group, enable a form to request to enter. This allows you to gather basic information on your community and hopefully start getting email addresses

Keep the questions optional if someone doesn’t want to answer them right away, since there will be other opportunities to get their contact information. Join our community and see how we do it at Markeko.

2. Welcome Post

Have a welcome post within your Facebook Group for new members to introduce each other and get a feel of what the community is all about.

Make sure to pin this post to the top of your feed so it’s the first thing new members see.

In this post, add important resources that will add value to your members:

  • Links to blogs
  • Social media accounts
  • Courses
  • Websites (if you have one!)
  • And more…

Here you can ask for their emails and other relevant information to add them to your newsletter and other marketing campaigns.

3. Landing Page and Pop-Ups

Last but not least, add pop ups to your landing pages to be able to collect those emails you don’t have yet. There are many add-ons you can use for this so look for the extension that works best for you.

This is great because it is a way to continuously have a way to connect with your users and keep the conversation going.

Additionally, in this pop-up, you can also redirect people to your Facebook Community if the user entered your website or landing page from a different source – so the cycle keeps going!

Pro tip: Convertkit has a pop up feature that is super easy to use and the best part is that it is directly linked to your account so those leads are simple to follow up with! Try it here)

🔥 3 Hacks worth knowing

(the tips, tricks and hacks worth knowing)

🔥 1 Fact worth reading

Really?

🔥 3 Hacks worth knowing

(the tips, tricks and hacks worth knowing)

Thinking about using Facebook groups to build your community?

Before you start, go over these questions and make sure Facebook is the right platform for you.

Puts lots of thought and effort into building your community to be able to attract the right people and grow together.

1. Who is your audience?

A community helps you understand your target market, their needs, interests, behaviors, and demographics so make sure you know who your customer really is.

This way you can build and design a place for your target customer to interact with you and others in your community.

Not knowing who your audience is will make your community lose value and relevance.

2. Why do you want to launch an online community?

This question is often overlooked because it appears too simple, but it is still extremely important.

Ask yourself whether you want it to strengthen your brand, have better conversations about your product or any other reason but this way you’ll be able to have better content and communication.

These communities can rally the most loyal customers in one place and it’s a great and fun way for like-minded people to chat with each other, while putting your brand at the center.

3. What are your community goals, key results, and activities?

By knowing what the purpose of your group is, you will be able to understand whether all the effort and energy you are putting into your Facebook Group is getting you the right results.

  • Is your community growing?
  • Do you have a better understanding of your customer?
  • Are you getting product feedback?
  • Are you generating sales from your group?
  • Did the new content you published had an impact on engagement?

It doesn’t matter what your goal is as long as you are clear on what you want to accomplish.

All of these questions can be answered if you have a clear plan before you launch your Facebook Group.

What else is important when thinking about building an online community ? Let us know via email!

🔥 1 Fact worth reading

Should I care about search engines?

YES!

But why?

  • Search engines drive 93% of all website traffic.
  • 18% of all local searches lead to a sale within one day.

🔥 3 Hacks worth knowing

(the tips, tricks and hacks worth knowing)

Getting started with your Facebook community?

First things first, how will you name it?

Having the right name is the most important step to build your community. At first, a lot of your growth will be organic and a great name can help you attract the right people.

1. Have a name that is searchable, easy to understand and creates a positive association

This might seem too basic but it is frequently overlooked. Make sure you don’t miss any of these elements!

Here is a quick checklist to go over:

  • Searchable – use Google Search and see what people are searching for
  • Easy to understand – find out what your target audience is already talking about
  • Positive association – this is what represents your brand

2. Keep it simple!

Remember to be straight-forward.

People don’t want to guess what your group is about, let them know in the name what they will be joining as this will save you from having people that have no interest in your group.

Here are some helpful formulas to guide you in creating a name for your community:

  • Product + Official/Community ➡️ Fiverr for entrepreneurs
  • Topic + Audience ➡️ Breastfeeding for first time moms
  • Pain Point + Audience ➡️ Sell your sofas in 24 hrs – City
  • Benefit + Audience ➡️ Profitable Ads for Drop-shipping
  • Brand + Audience ➡️ Starbucks for coffee aficionados

3. Don’t forget about the restrictions

The last thing is to make sure you follow Facebook’s guidelines.

  • Your name can have up to 75 characters in length
  • You can change the name every 28 days (not a day sooner!)

What else is important when choosing a name for your community ? Let us know via email!

How to audit your Facebook Pixel account?

Auditing your Facebook account might seem daunting but follow these 3 hacks and you’ll see how much simpler it is!

1. Make sure the pixel is installed and firing correctly.

The Facebook pixel is probably one the most important tools (as of now) that you can use to improve your targeting and ad performance. Not setting up this tool properly can mess up your results. Here is a quick checklist to go over:

  • Is your pixel installed on your website?
  • Do the right people have access to the Business Manager? And is your pixel connected to your Ad Account and custom conversions? Learn how.

2. Make sure your events are being triggered and domain verified

The second thing is to check whether you can track events throughout the important steps in your sales funnel.

3. Make sure to configure, prioritize your 8 events and see results on the Ads Manager

The last thing is to make sure your events are prioritized properly and running correctly.

  • Have your prioritized your 8 events? Learn how.
  • Define which event you will prioritize for first? Top of funnel (landing page view) or top of funnel (purchases)?
  • Can you see campaign results for your events? Cost per event? ROAS?

What else is important when auditing your Facebook account ? Let us know via email!

🔥 3 Hacks worth knowing

(the tips, tricks and hacks worth knowing)

There are so many tools available, but do you make them work for you?

Here are three tricks I use to be able to be more productive when having an online presence.

Schedule your posts in advance.

Creating and posting can become time consuming if you do it on a daily basis.

Instead, take advantage of the ‘later’ feature in all the social media you use.

Use a day or two at the beginning of each month to plan your content strategy and use the time to create, write captions and plan the following weeks.

Create saved replies for FAQ’s.

Get the same question over and over again but you keep typing each individual answer?

Save time by saving these replies on your Page. If you enjoy working on a page that doesn’t offer this tool, keep a list of answers handy when going over your messages. Trust me, small changes like this one end up making a big difference.

Limit your screen time.

Don’t spend all day on your social media replying messages and getting wrapped up in current posts and news articles.

While it is important to keep up, know your limits. If you are not able to stop after a certain amount of time, restrict the time you are allowed on each app.

It’s tempting to just keep scrolling but don’t lose focus and keep up with your work.

What other strategies do you use to optimize your time? Let us know via email!

🔥 3 Hacks worth knowing

(the tips, tricks and hacks worth knowing)

How do you get sh!t done with so many distractions?

Here are three tricks I use to focus and be able to get work done.

Turn off all of your notifications on your phone

We are all addicted to our phones. On average, we check our phone 150 times and tap, swipe, and click on your phone 2,617 times per day. Every single day. Your phone is the easiest way to get you distracted.

There is not a better way than to just turn off all of your notifications.

Trust me.

If something is urgent, they will call you!

Close all tabs on your computer; except the ones you are working on.

We’ve all been on calls when people share their screens and they have hundreds of tabs opened on different windows. Close them. All of them. Except the ones you really need.

Having so many tabs open only creates anxiety and will interfere with your work; especially if you have social media tabs with notification.

Start with the hardest task at hand

What is the first thing you do when you open your computer? Probably check your email or Slack.

Don’t!

Start planning your day, define what tasks are important to complete that day and start with the hardest one. Don’t bother checking email until after mid-day. This will help you focus on the important tasks first and then get distracted with daily asks by your team or co-workers.

What other tricks do you use to get sh!t done without getting distracted? Just reply to this email.

🔥 3 Hacks worth knowing

(the tips, tricks and hacks worth knowing)

Earlier this week I had a great live session with Nadja, Head of Business Development at Lemlist to discuss how to leverage LinkedIn to increase sales.

Here are the three hacks you should know:

1. Engage with your ICP’s thought leaders or influencers

“I am going to find potential clients and start engaging with their content.” is the first thing we do when using LinkedIn to find potential customers. Instead, focus your time in finding 8-10 thought leaders or influencers that your ICP or Buyer Personas are following and start engaging with their audience comments.

It’s a great way to start conversations on LinkedIn.

2. Stop sending LinkedIn invites like crazy

Play the long term game and engage with people through conversations. Instead of adding people to your LinkedIn; play the long game of engaging and commenting on your audience posts. People will start noticing you, adding you to LinkedIn and open the space to pitch your product or service.

3. Comment and send post formula

I love this one and it’s easy to do. Instead of sending people to your landing page, do the comment and send post:

  • Make a post where you ask people to comment or DM you for a guide or something that add value to them
  • Send the guide through DM’s
  • Scrap the data of people who comment automatically
  • Build your list of people and clean it
  • Engage with them with your funnel actions

A great way to build an audience, make your post go viral and build your prospecting list.

🤔 1 Questions worth answering

Why would someone’s children’s age matter when hiring them? (beyond the legal aspect of it, why even ask this question…) Even if it’s legal in the country, is it “ethical” for recruiters to ask personal questions during an interview?

🔥  3 Hacks worth knowing – How do you make difficult decisions in life
(the tips, tricks and hacks worth knowing)

As humans, we make thousands of decisions every day. Some are easy and natural.

But what is your process to go through the tough ones…
– Do you fire someone?
– Should I break up with my partner?
– Do you quit your job? Change jobs?
– Do you sell your company?
– etc. etc. etc.

I wanted to share the three key questions I asked myself when making a difficult decision and have helped me.

1. Will I regret it?
Sometimes we think about things too much. We go over the many what ifs. And you will always find some excuse not to make a decision. There will always be many unknowns.

But what I’ve found useful is to just ask myself, “10 years from now, will I regret this?” If the answer is no, just go for it.

2. What is the worst that can happen?
Think about the worst case scenario if you were to make the decision. If the worst case scenario does not look so bad, then go for it. Most likely, the worst case scenario will require for you to get out of your comfort zone.

And that is ok.

I am not saying that you put yourself in dangerous situations. Stop dreading about it and just do it.

3. Will I have piece of mind?
A lot of times we delay making some decisions in hope that things will improve. We just kick the can down the road.

It is easier… right? Instead of doing something about it today, we leave it for tomorrow.

By delaying the decision, you are only adding more mental baggage to your brain. Think about how many decisions you haven’t taken because you are afraid. Delaying the inevitable. Sometimes piece of mind is more important to be able to move on.

Have the necessary brain power to get that next thing. Think about it!

🔥  3 Hacks worth knowing – Building a digital mkt team
(the tips, tricks and hacks worth knowing)

“Hire for deliver over marketing and sales”

Last week I had a great live session with Emily Hirsh about her story building a $3MM ARR agency. We talked about making your first hire and building your team.

I decided to give three tips when making your first hire.

1. Hire for deliver over marketing and sales
Yes! The first hire should be someone who can help you with execution. Get someone who can build processes and deliver. Having this person will allow you to continue growing and building the foundations to scale.

2. Interview for hustle
From my experience, look for people who are willing to hustle and try stuff out. As someone looking for a new job, there is no excuse for “I don’t have experience” in digital mkt anymore. You can always post content, run ads for friends or family and join/engage with a community.

Look for hustle!

3. Ask How-How-How when you are interviewing
If you want to make sure people have actually executed in their previous jobs (run ads, write content, develop a strategy, etc.) make sure to ask “How” at least 3 times.

How did you get those results?
How did you decide which campaign to launch?
How did you set up the ads? Walk me through step by step?

Always try to get details and dig deepers into how things were executed. Force them to explain the how.

What are some hiring tips you have?

🔥  3 Hacks worth knowing

What is your morning routine hack? One of the best ways to keep me productive as a marketer is having established a morning routine.

Here is mine:

  1. What are 3 most important things to accomplish today?

I take some time to write the 3 musts and priorities I have to finish today. This helps me focus and stay on track with what I need to do. It’s easy to get distracted with slack, whatsapp and other day to day activities.

  1. What does my schedule look like?

Understand what your days look like and whether you need to move meetings, prepare for one or change things around to accommodate your 3 tasks.

  1. How do I fit those 3 things in my schedule?

Find time in your schedule to focus on finishing those three things. Cancel meetings, reschedule stuff or do whatever you need to do to make sure you accomplish those 3 things.

I do this every day and it really helps me stay on track and focus on what is important. What is your morning routine like?

🔥  3 Hacks worth knowing

Targeting. How do you target? Broad or narrow? Size? Here are three simple tips to help you get started with audience targeting.

  1. Region: Go broad if you are doing conversion campaigns in developing countries (Facebook has good data to optimize with). Go narrow if you are doing ads in emerging markets (market dynamics and restrictions are different).
  2. Budget: Large budgets tends to work well with large audiences as you can control the frequency of your campaigns and thus control your costs. If you are getting started, think about smaller audiences (restrict geography).
  1. The Rule of 7: On average it takes 7 interactions with your brand before someone makes a purchase. This comes down to managing your audience size and budget. Balance both by measuring your frequency.

🎛️ New Account Center – Facebook, Instagram, and Messenger… probably WhatsApp coming soon
👨‍💻 Add your WhatsApp Business number to your Business Manager
🟡 New Facebook Blueprint Community Certification
🛑 Didn’t pass your exam… here is what you can do
🎄Instagram launched its Season For Shops
Instagram recently launched their new Season For Shops. You can add tags, collections, and shopping ads to directly within your Instagram account.Keep in mind that this feature is not available everywhere but if you already set up your Instagram Shopping account, you can probably start using this new feature and get ready for the Holidays.
💬📱 Cross App Messaging – Instagram New DM
Instagram recently made a huge update to its Instagram Direct Messages.

  1. You will now be able to send messages across Instagram and Messenger seamlessly
  2. Many new themes and backgrounds
  3. New privacy controls
  4. Enhanced reporting and block users across platforms

Facebook is slowly integrating more and more of its apps. Especially with the new Business Suite (check out last week’s announcement).

Check out the official announcement here.

🎛️ New Account Center – Facebook, Instagram, and Messenger… probably WhatsApp coming soon
As Facebook integrates more and more its platforms, they recently announced a new way to manage payments, credit cards, content posting, and more through their new Account Center.Facebook Pay will also slowly be rolled out to the Account Center. You will now be able to manage all of your accounts through the same place. I really hope they integrate WhatsApp quickly now.
👨‍💻 Add your WhatsApp Business number to your Business Manager
You should now be able to integrate or add your WhatsApp Business number through your Business Manager. Previously, you had to do it through your Page or directly on the Ads manager and had a ton of issues with clients. But… you can now add it directly within your Business Manager. Just go to your Business Manager > Business Settings > Accounts and you should now see the WhatsApp Accounts option.
🟡 New Facebook Blueprint Community Certification
Facebook recently launched its new Facebook Community Manager Blueprint Certification. The main focus of the certification is to support leaders who foster community and empower them to build, scale and connect their communities in a meaningful way.I was part of the pilot test and can say if you are running a community or group this might be worth doing. You can find more resources here: free online coursesstudy guide, and practice tests.
🛑 Didn’t pass your exam… here is what you can do
This one is a repeat from last week, but there are a bunch of posts about this in our group.First of all, you are not alone. For a lot of people, it usually takes 2-3 times to pass the exams and get certified. Especially if English is not your first language, you don’t necessarily use all types of FB tools and are not familiar with certain topics (e.g. reach and frequency buying, SDK…)Here is what you can do:

  1. Write a list of topics that you feel like you are not comfortable with.
  2. Go to Facebook Business Help Center and search for those topics.
  3. Read the main help articles that Facebook has. This info is usually more updated, detailed, and better resource than going over the Blueprint courses.
  4. As you read, go over the tools and try to implement some of the tactics or see how the tools work (even if you don’t launch ads)

This should help you familiarize yourself better and pass your next exam!
