And I’ve been getting a lot of questions on our Facebook group.
Do I still need to take the Core Exam?
What if I took the core exam before… is it still valid?
Do you know if the planning exam will be the new or the old version?
Does this change the order in which you should take the exams? Do you still need to do core competencies first?

What are the new Facebook Professional Blueprint Certification Exams?
There are basically three new exams that you can take:
- 400-101 – Facebook Certified Media Planning Professional
- 410-101 – Facebook Certified Media Buying Professional
- 500-101 – Facebook Certified Ads Product Developer I
As you can see, the Core exam is gone. You only need to take one exam to get your certification.

What is the 400-101 – Facebook Certified Media Planning Professional?
The 400-101: Facebook Certified Media Planning Professional exam has replaced the 322-101: Facebook Certified Planning Professional.
It’s still similar to the old exam but with some changes:
- You now have 105 minutes instead of 75 minutes
- Price is the same at $150; however, it varies by country. Keep in mind that you use to pay $300 per certification as you had to take both the core exam and planning exam to get certified.
- You have to answer 60 questions in the time allotted
- You need to get a 700 score to get certified
- You can take your proctored exams online using your own computer, or in Pearson VUE Testing Center near you.
What is the 410-101 – Facebook Certified Media Buying Professional?
The 410-101: Facebook Certified Media Buying Professional exam has replaced the 321-101: Facebook Certified Buying Professional.
- You now have 105 minutes instead of 75 minutes
- Price is the same at $150; however, it varies by country. Keep in mind that you use to pay $300 per certification as you had to take both the core exam and planning exam to get certified.
- You have to answer 60 questions in the time allotted
- You need to get a 700 score to get certified
- You can take your proctored exams online using your own computer, or in Pearson VUE Testing Center near you.
What is the 500-101 – Facebook Certified Ads Product Developer I?
This certification will replace the current Bronze Certification as acceptance criteria for future FMC Partners.
If you have already completed the Bronze Certification course, quiz, and coding exercise and have been accepted as an FMC Partner, you do not need to take any action at this time.
However, if you haven’t taken the Bronze Certification, you will have to take this new exam in order to get certified.
- The exam is 90 minutes and $150.
- The coding exercise will still remain the same and be hosted on Repl.it for now.
On August 8, 2019, the Bronze Certification will officially close.

The study guide is still relevant and will most likely stay the same. I am currently working on a study guide for both the buying and planning exam.

If you plan to take the 400-101 – Facebook Certified Media Planning Professional, our 110 sample questions should help you prepare for exam; however, I will be updating questions specifically for this exam.
Frequently Asked Questions on the new Facebook Professional Certification Exams
Here is a list of common questions I’ve been getting from the new and updated exams.
What score do you need to get to pass your exam?
The scoring system still ranges from 300-1000 with a minimum score of 700 to pass all exams.
You can now get your exam score in the Pearsons online center under your profile:
Do you still need to take the Facebook Blueprint Core Exam?
No.
The Core exam is not needed anymore if you plan to take any of the new certification exams.
If you took the core exam and have not taken the Buying or Planning old certification exams, you have until October 1st in order to do so.
When will the old exams expire?
You have until October 1st to take your old exams.
Are the new Facebook Blueprint Professional Certification exams harder?
I would say yes!
I recently took the Buying exam and thought it was a bit harder than the last one.
- The exam goes more in-depth into certain topics
- The exam is longer as you have more questions now
- The exam is more case-based than before
- The exam has a lot more questions on measurement

What is the Facebook Professional exam cost?
Each exam will cost you $150 to take. If you fail the exam, you have to re-pay the $150 fee each time. For more info on exam costs, please go to this link.
What languages are available for the new exams?
The following languages are available for the new exams:
- English
- French
- German
- Spanish
- Portuguese
- Traditional Chinese
- Simplified Chinese
- Japanese
- Korean
What happens when I pass the Facebook Blueprint Exam?
If you pass the Facebook Blueprint Exam, you should get an email like the one below:
You can go to your Acclaim account to claim your badge and share it with your community!
What is the Facebook Blueprint exam retake policy?
If you don’t pass an exam, you must wait five days before retaking it. This rule might vary by exam so make sure you check on this link: click here.
You will have to pay the full $150 US Dollars in order to retake the exam each time. Keep in mind that the actual fee might vary by country.
What if I fail the Facebook Blueprint Exam?
If you fail the exam, you should get an email like the one below after 2-3 days of taking the exam:

Why should you get certified?
I would personally say to separate you from the crowd in a competitive job market. When you have a Facebook Blueprint Certified Professional digital badge to share with potential clientes, it give them credibility and proof that you know what you are doing.
Some Facebook Partners are also being required to pass the exams and get certified in order to stay as partners.
How do you claim you badge?
24-36 hours after taking the exam, you should get an email from Acclaim with your badge details. Make sure you check your spam folder if you have not received it yet.
You can also access Acclaim and download your digital badge.
When will you receive your certification?
Within 24 hours of completing your exam(s) or coding exercise and achieving certification, your exam score report will be available for download from your Blueprint Certification profile in CertMetrics.
How long does your certification last?
Your Blueprint certification is valid for 12 months from the date you pass the exam. Re-certification exams can be taken as early as six months before your expiration date.
The fee for re-certifying is the same as the initial cost, which is the equivalent of $150 US Dollars per exam. Learn more about the cost of the exams.
